Making Wall Clock Arrangements
Whether you use clocks as working or decorative timepieces, they deserve a fine place on your wall. Turn this section of your room into a conversation piece by having your timekeepers reflect the different time zones around the world or hanging them in a unique pattern. Below are some specific steps on how to accomplish unique arrangements using this gadget.
Put up your clocks in a circle or half-circle position; mix everything from the ornate antique to the metal wind-up varieties. A lot of time pieces come with an attached piece to rest on a nail head. Otherwise, use a plate hanger to affix them on the wall.
Next, combine metal, wood, and even plastic hooks to set up a wall of time. Scatter the devices you have over the plain surface, making sure that each is spaced at the same distance apart. For example, your clocks will look like a designed grouping if they are all six inches away from each other, but at different heights.
In order to create a wall of time from around the world, use clocks that are close in size but varied in style. Assemble the timepieces in two rows that will form a zigzag pattern. Once that is done, set the times for the countries or time zones of your choice. Print small labels to denote the location for the time below each timekeeper.
Finally, give your clocks a floating look by hanging decorative, tassled cords down the wall and attaching each of them individually. Put one end of the cord to an eye hook and screw it into the ceiling, about two inches from the wall. Place the timepieces on the cords using a heavy piece of elastic.
